Product Review: Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Foundation

I recently discovered a new foundation by Maybelline. It is the Dream Flawless Nude Foundation. The bottle appears to be dainty and delicate with an upwards ombre effect. I had finished my Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation (which I loved!) so I thought I would give a new foundation a try. I opted for shade 10, Ivory, which is the lightest shade that they do. Unfortunately, this foundation has no SPF Factor.

If you’re looking for a more natural, light foundation, then this is the product for you. I would describe the wand to have a tear drop at the end which you dab on your finger and apply to your face. (You can also use a CLEAN beauty blender or brush.) It gives even coverage, although, I personally layer it on to get the effect I am looking for. It gives minimalistic coverage to the skin, so definitely a foundation for the ‘natural look.’

The upside of this foundation is that it feels gorgeous on the skin! I cannot express this enough! It feels like satin on your skin, it is so soft and delicate it is like a caress to your face. I found myself sitting there stroking my face while staring at my reflection. (Creepy, I know!) But I marvelled at how wonderful it felt on my skin.

I found that is wore off after a few hours. I applied it at 7:30am and it had worn off by 1:30pm, I had been outside for an hour and that’s it! I felt irritated by that, but, it isn’t a long lasting coverage. I found that it dried around any blemishes that I had which made them much more obvious. (I had applied moisturiser before I put it on.)

Overall, I am slightly disappointed. I expected more from Maybelline and it did not deliver. I will not repurchase this foundation, and unless you have the time to keep re-applying, then I don’t recommend you invest in this product.
